  Child Abuse Assessment and Reporting
 
  Mandated reporters are the following individuals:
 
  a) Social Worker- Social Worker strive to improve the lives of individuals and improve society as a whole. Social worker is a helping field.

    b) Therapist- Therapist are individuals who work with individuals
providing counseling to families and children.

    c)  Licensed Social Worker- Licensed Social Worker are individuals who have obtain their Master Degree in Social work  have obtained
their  3000 hours of practical social work and their License from the Board of Behavioral Sciences in order to practice in the field of social work.

     d)  Psychologist- Psychologist are individuals who work with individuals doing assessments, such as Psychological Evaluations,
(IQ test, Personality evaluations) These individuals have obtained
3000 hours of practical experience performing psychological evaluations and psychologist also perform counseling . Psychologist
need also to complete exams from the Board of Behavioral Sciences
and obtain their psychology license in order to practice in the field
of psychology.    

  e)  Psychiatrist- Psychiatrist are individuals who study in the field
of medicine and have studied in medical school. Psychiatrist
are physician who specializes in psychiatrist and have devoted to the study, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental disorders.
These disorders include various affective, behavioral, cognitive
and perceptual abnormalities. These physician can also prescribe psychotropic medicine to treat mental disorders.

  f)  Medical doctors- Medical doctors are individual who have studied
in medical school and have obtained their MD license in order to practice medicine. These individuals have a comprehensive training
in the field of medicine completing their residence in hospitals or clinics.

  g)  Child Advocate-  Child advocate are individuals who work in court
appointed special advocate office of  Los  Angeles who  serve the needs
of abused, neglected and abandoned children in Dependency Court
system. The advocate provide the best possible information to the judges making decisions about these children's future.

   h) Chiropractor- Chiropractor are individuals who practice in the health care profession and approach to healing concerned with the
diagnosis, treatment and prevention disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal  system and the effects of these disorders on general health.

   i)  Clergy-  Clergy are some of the formal leaders within certain religions. The roles and functions of clergy vary in different religious
traditions but these usually involve performing over specific rituals
and teaching their religion's doctrines and practices.
 
   j)  Physical Therapist-  Physical Therapist help individuals who
have injuries or illnesses improve their movement.

   k)  Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant
Nurses- Nurses  are individuals who work in the health field. Nurses are
Licensed Vocational Nurses or Registered Nurses. These nurses
can work at hospitals , clinics or agencies.
Certified Nurse Assistant-  CNA  are individuals who work in the health field  assisting patients with their health care needs, under the supervision of Licensed Vocational Nurses or Registered Nurses.
Medical Assistant- Medical Assistant   is a non licensed allied health
field who perform administrative and or clinical  tasks to support
the work of physicians and other health professionals. They perform
routine tasks and procedures such as measuring patients vital
signs, administering medications and injections, recording information
in medical records  keeping systems, preparing and handling medical
instruments and supplies, and collecting and preparing specimens of
bodily fluids and tissues for laboratory testing.

  l)  Optometrist- also known as ophthalmic opticians. These individuals
are trained to prescribe and fit lenses to improve vision, and to diagnose and treat various eye disease.

  m)  Ophthalmologists-  is a specialists in medical and surgical eye
problems. Since ophthalmologists perform operations on eyes, they are both surgical and medical specialists.

    n)  Pharmacists- also known as druggists or chemist, are healthcare
professionals who practice in pharmacy, the field of health sciences
focusing on safe and effective medication use. Pharmacist also
hold a Bachelors Degree or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.

     0)  Police Officers- These individuals work in the Law enforcement
agency. These agency is a government agency responsible for enforcement of laws. These Police Officers work at local Police Department who are responsible for enforcement of laws affecting
the behavior of people or the general community. These individuals
also patrol the streets and freeways to make sure that residents
are abiding with the law.
Police Officers also work in the sexual abuse unit with Department
of Children and Family Service for the protection of children against
